AVP, General Liability Claims Manager

We are looking for a dynamic leader who will lead and direct a team of Managers and Claims Professionals handling General Liability claims.  This leader will partner with the other AVPs within the line of business to help develop, support and drive key initiatives and strategies.   They will also work on National Projects on behalf of the line of business and serve as a subject matter expert to the underwriting team regarding product developments or enhancements to provide support and guidance and ensure compliance with regulatory policies. The successful candidate will coordinate the work activities of the team and has responsibility for performance, development and coaching of staff to maximize contributions and drive employee development and operational improvements. This position has clear and distinct accountability for business results and manages internal and external customer relationships. 


Basic Qualifications: 


  • Juris Doctor and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area 
  • Bachelors Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims area 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11 or more years of experience in the Claims area
  • 3 or more years of management experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
  • Travel 25% or more

  • Expertise in the General Liability line of business

  • Strong Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
