Our opportunity


Insurance Solutions within Business Technology Solutions seeks an Application Support / Subject Matter Expert to support a Guidewire based global, business critical application.


As part of a team of two sitting within the core GPP IT team you will be responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across the platform as well as identifying training needs, preparing release notes and other communication to users, and becoming experts in the functionalities of all the products on the platform.


You will be part of a large team, engaging with Project Managers, Business Analysts, developers, testers, and business stakeholders spread around the world who work to build, implement, operate, and maintain new underwriting pricing products across multiple Commercial Insurance lines of business.


Additionally, you will have the chance to work in an agile environment collaborating and communicating with peers and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation on a daily basis.   


Your role


As a Application Support Expert your main responsibilities will involve:


  • Become proficient in all products on the GPP platform with the goal of being a ‘go-to’ function for all usability questions
  • Managing tickets raised by the business in Service Now and engaging with stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Keep track of queries and resolutions
  • Identifying and resolving business questions and issues
  • Managing coordination of issues at a local and global level where required
  • Identifying training needs from issues that are raised and work closely with the training team to address these
  • Develop reports for communication to senior stakeholders
  • Preparation of release notes and other communications to users
  • Assist with creating and maintaining GPP documentation


Your Skills and Experience


As a Application Support Expert your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Studies or similar 
  • Previous Experience with Service Now
  • Experience with Jira is valued
  • Analytical thinking and quick to identify problems
  • Fast learning, self-motivated, proactive, and able to show initiative
  • Positive attitude with ability to adapt in a changing environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management experience
  • Experience in P&C insurance preferred
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
