Data Operations & Platform Management


Our opportunity


The role is a great opportunity for a person interested in managing and administering visualization and Business Intelligence platforms in a data-rich company. Platforms like Microstrategy, MS Power BI, and SAP Business Objects are amongst the top in the market. The role is ideally placed to develop and strengthen in-depth knowledge and expertise in their administration and day-to-day operation. Working with other technical support and platform teams, a strong profile in IT delivery can be built within the organization.



Your role


As a Platform Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:


  • Maintaining all platforms in scope and keeping them up and running according to SLA
  • Troubleshooting system environmental issues
  • Supporting technical projects implementation
  • Working on upgrades and implementation of required changes
  • Providing guidance and training to users as required
  • Collaborating on required documentation to ensure new solutions are smoothly being transitioned into regular operation
  • Monitoring usage of the platforms using defined monitoring metrics and KPIs
  • Automating operation activities to simplify platform support
  • Creating and keeping updated documentation about the platforms and the security model of the platforms
  • Collaborating with audit and compliance execution activities



Your Skills and Experience


As a Platform Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


  • University IT bachelor’s degree or similar
  • 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure related work, preferably 2nd line and above
  • 2-3 years of working experience with Microstrategy, MS Power BI, SAP Business Objects or other visualization and BI tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL & AGILE methodologies (certifications are a plus)
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment, flexibility, and ability to learn
  • Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and quality
  • Good command of English language
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
