The Role

 

Zurich Insurance group is looking for a technical senior SAM Data and Technologies specialist to join global Software Asset Management function with an objective to maintain and further develop the Flexera platform, as well as in-house SAM solutions and data platforms. This is a senior technical role that requires a broad understanding of IT technologies, data concepts, Software Asset Management, and service management, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholder groups across Zurich Group.

Group Technology and Operations Software Asset Management comprises of an international team of SAM experts in four countries, who manage a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and SAM technology stack to support IT stakeholders in achieving their objectives. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to work at a groupwide global level in defining and implementing 'Best Practice' methodologies related to SAM service.

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our global Commercial Insurance team.

As a SAM Data & Technologies Specialist you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as the application owner for the Software Asset Management (SAM) technology & data solution, ensuring its effective operation and ongoing enhancement.
  • Actively participate as a member of the team responsible for deploying, customizing, supporting, and improving the SAM technology & data platforms.
  • Support the implementation of the SAM framework by contributing technical and data-driven insights to our internal and external customers.
  • Apply industry best practices and share lessons learned in tools & data management within the SAM domain.
  • Provide IT operational best practices and insights to facilitate the successful rollout of applications across multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with use cases across a broad spectrum of enterprise-grade software solutions particularly infrastructure, cloud computing, containerization, and tier 1 publisher products.
  • Maintain cross-functional awareness of both downstream and upstream processes related to SAM, ensuring comprehensive process understanding.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including IT architecture, governance, security, support & operations, finance, and procurement teams, to drive alignment and results.
  • Create and maintain clear and thorough documentation to ensure transparency and ongoing knowledge management.
  • Support and drive implementation of global SAM technology standards, processes, controls, reporting, and monitor agreed performance indicators and control metrics.
  • Track and manage workload effectively, ensuring deadlines and targets are consistently met.
  • Continuously improve SAM by leveraging AI capabilities to reduce manual effort, able to identify recurring patterns and spot optimization opportunities.
  • Uphold healthy and clean code structures, adhering to best practices and standards.

 

What Makes You a great Fit?

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a technical capacity, demonstrating expertise and proven results.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Asset Management and licensing concepts
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with SAM platforms such as Flexera. (ServiceNOW CMDB is a plus).
  • Possess deep expertise in SQL, supporting advanced data manipulation and analysis. (Databricks is a plus)
  • Utilize and integrate common APIs to support platform interoperability.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Python coding, enabling automation and process enhancement.
  • Managed ETL processes, data warehousing, and data quality assurance.
  • Familiarity and administration skills for Windows, Unix/Linux and virtualization platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical skills using business intelligence platforms. (PowerBI is a plus).
  • Proven track record in adopting and embedding AI solutions in day to day operations.
  • Good time and project management skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
