Our opportunity

 

The SAP Platform Application SME position has an in-depth understanding of group closing and consolidation processes in combination with related application knowledge. This position requires close working relations with other technical teams and business stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include specification & design, test & validation, documentation, and application support including on-call services during group closing periods. The portfolio comprises multiple business critical applications supporting the global finance organization.

 

 

Your role

 

As a SAP Platform Application SME your main responsibilities will involve

 

  • Maintain and evolve platforms used for the group closing activities in compliance with installation standards, procedures, and conventions.
  • Leverage your IT Operations and Technical Experience to deliver against SAP Platform Projects, Upgrade Activities, and maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with software and infrastructure providers and business partners to resolve / troubleshoot problems.
  • Interact with internal and external teams such as, Application Development, Data Integration, Basis, Infrastructure, Network etc. to support platform activities and projects.
  • Support group closing periods with scheduled on-call services.
  • Grow into emerging technologies, such as SAP HANA, Cloud Connectors, SAP CPI, FIORI, Azure / AWS

 

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

As a SAP Platform Application SME your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 

Qualifications/experience:
 

  • Experienced in developing and maintaining trusted and effective working relationships with stakeholders in an international, highly complex virtual environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages beneficial (Spanish preferred, any other language).
  • A background in SAP Basis with hands-on experience is preferable.
  • Highly service / customer oriented as well as result-driven thinking.
  • Willing to build up new skills and share knowledge across teams
  • Capable to act within structured processes and workflows, escalating deviations & issues as per definition

     

Knowledge:

 

  • Knowledge and experience of SAP Architectures
    Knowledge of the SAP Reporting Tool Suite
  • In-depth knowledge to navigate within SAP environments (includes log reporting, jobs, transports, OSS notes)
  • Understanding of service management-oriented models and frameworks (such as ITIL)
  • Understanding of SOX Audit work procedures.
  • Hands on Experience on Application Management, Development and Operations


     

Skills:

Advanced Level

  • SAP ECC, BW, Portal technical Skills
  • SAP Netweaver Infrastructure
  • English (Spoken and Written)

 

Basic / Intermediate Level

  • SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) & SAP Reporting Tool Suite (BEx, AFO)
  • SAP Enterprise Portal
  • SAP HANA DB
  • SAP DM a plus
  • SAP SLT a plus
  • ABAP programming in SAP a plus
    Emerging Technologies are a plus (e.g., Cloud Connectors)
