As the Manager, Methodologies and Change, you will be responsible for contributing to and supporting our strategic priorities, in particular related to changing our audit methodologies, audit practices, wider ways of working – and to co-create a leading audit function.
Audit Operations
The Audit operations team sits at the heart of the internal audit function, we are on our own journey to evolving our approach, with the aim of supporting the global audit team to get better and better at delivering our purpose and strategy, while growing and learning at the same time. We are here to support the audit function to deliver exceptional insights to our varied stakeholders, as well as influencing the control environment. The team’s role is to set up and continuously improve what we as an audit function do, how we work, develop and grow together. Building efficiencies and drive meaningful change.
Your role
The Manager, Methodologies and Change will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the internal audit practices, methodologies, and ways of working. They will also set up and monitor the project and change management over the various initiatives being undertaken in the function. This role will work with the Professional practices Lead and internal audit team, in collaboration with key internal audit stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimize the internal audit function, enhance audit quality, and support effective delivery of internal audit’s mandate. This role operates globally, and will work with teams across Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
What will your day-to-day life be like?
Reporting into the Professional Practices Lead (PPL) - you’ll work closely with senior leaders within the audit team including the Group Audit Chief Operating Officer and you will be responsible for:
- Working with senior internal audit leaders to assess, define and evolve our practices for our planning and audit methodologies, and working practices, to be further business and outcome focused. Working with internal and external SMEs to ensuring these practices are set up to be more agile and flexible to enable us to be fit for whatever the future brings.
- Role modelling and supporting a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance audit quality and efficiency.
- Developing and delivering training globally, on these updated practices – working closely with the Audit Director, People Development and Operations to enhance audit skills.
- Analyzing and reporting on stakeholder feedback themes, trends and insights as well as the results of quality assurance activities to enable continuous improvements across global teams. Develop and implement actions to improve audit activities.
- Facilitating assessments of audit activities against global and local internal audit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and supporting the evolution of our reporting approach and building further capabilities around report writing alongside the Audit Director, People Development and Operations.
- Developing project management templates and activities for wider strategic initiatives and running the ongoing monitoring and reporting. Supporting the implementation and evolution of audit tools and ways of working to support updated audit practices.
- Providing guidance to the internal audit team including coaching and training to enhance internal audit skills.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and leading practices in internal audit and related fields to ensure the internal audit function stays ahead of the game.
What will you need to succeed in the role?
- Bachelor's degree; CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with a proven background of working in an internal audit function, and in a fast paced environment.
- Experience of developing and implementing internal audit methodologies and practices or with change is required.
- A forward-thinking and inquisitive individual
- Strong understanding of agile practices and how they can be applied to internal audit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent influencing skills including the ability to convey benefits of changes and train on new approaches.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards related to internal audit.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Very good English (verbal and written) is required. Additional languages is advantageous.
