What Can You Expect?

And you might be thinking: This is great, what will my day-to-day be like, at TDC? I’m glad you asked. 

We are recruiting a Senior Project/Program Manager to oversee a portfolio of AI‑enabled projects designed to bring an unrivalled level of insights to our Commercial Insurance (CI) underwriters at key decision points in the underwriting process. The role sits within the CI Operational Excellence & Transformation team (Barcelona TDC), reporting to the Portfolio Manager; the Product Owner is the CI Underwriting Transformation Lead. You will lead an established team of project managers/scrum masters, business analysts and engineers to take multiple products successfully to production.

As a Senior Project/Program Manager you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead and coordinate complex, strategic projects within the CI Underwriting Transformation initiative, delivering measurable operational efficiency and new underwriting insights through AI.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery across multiple initiatives: scope, planning, estimates and budget planning/forecasting, risk/dependency/issue management, change/release, and benefits realisation.
• Balance and sequence parallel workstreams and teams; manage cross‑initiative dependencies, critical paths and resource allocations; maintain transparent priorities and trade‑offs.
• Serve as the primary interface between business, IT and delivery teams; drive clarity on objectives, scope and decisions; communicate progress, risks and trade‑offs to senior stakeholders to secure timely decisions and alignment.
• Apply the most appropriate delivery model (agile, hybrid or waterfall) for each initiative and act as Project Manager or Scrum Master as necessary; tailor governance, ceremonies and controls accordingly.
• Establish and continuously improve operational excellence practices within scope of responsibility; sharing best practices
• Collaborate with CI IT and enterprise functions to ensure solutions meet business needs and adhere to Zurich standards and controls (Architecture Review, Information Security, Data Privacy and Compliance).
• Build and sustain healthy, high‑performing teams; monitor delivery health and workload; coach the PM/SM and BA community and promote best practices.
• Collaborate on exciting projects, such as….eg: bringing fresh ideas to the table.

What Makes You a great Fit?

While we’re not seeking perfection or expecting you to save the world, we believe that if you meet some of these requirements, you’ll be a fantastic fit for our team. We are waiting for you!

• 10+ years of experience delivering complex programmes and projects in insurance, financial services or large enterprise; experience in AI/analytics or underwriting transformation is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent initiatives, with strong financial planning/forecasting and benefits tracking.
• Exceptional stakeholder leadership: clear storytelling, negotiation and influence at senior levels.
• Deep risk management and delivery assurance expertise (RAID, dependency mapping, release readiness).
• Hands‑on experience as both Project Manager and Scrum Master; adept with agile at scale and hybrid models.
• Solid knowledge of programme/project methods and tools; relevant certifications (e.g., PMP/PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe) are nice to have.
• Analytical, pragmatic and outcome‑focused; data‑driven decision‑making and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable in a matrixed, international environment; fluent English (Spanish/Catalan/German a plus).´
