Rehabilitation Case Manager

The opportunity:
If you’re a Registered Nurse (NMC registered), Occupational Therapist, or Occupational Health Nurse with extensive musculoskeletal injury and trauma management experience and you’re seeking a new challenge, this could be the perfect opportunity.
As a Rehabilitation Case Manager, you’ll collaborate directly with customers, employers, employees, and legal representatives to advocate, plan, arrange, and deliver rehabilitation programs. You’ll be empowered to influence improvements across the team and business, supporting quality outcomes for customers and coaching colleagues.

What will you be doing?
Using your medical skills, your aim is to manage workplace injuries by promoting early intervention in treatment provision—whether this involves oversight of NHS treatment or the provision of private treatment. You will signpost to aid recovery and support injured parties in returning to and sustaining work after injury-related absence, with a focus on commercial awareness throughout the process.
- Lead case management for individuals affected by psychological trauma, musculoskeletal injury, or polytrauma.
- Develop and manage treatment plans and overall return-to-function programs.
- Evaluate rehabilitation effectiveness and initiate return-to-work programs.
- Collaborate with injured parties, health professionals, and employers to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain exact case management records and produce professional reports.
- Adhere to clinical and case management codes of practice.
- Manage a portfolio of rehabilitation referrals and financial authority per case.
- Function as a specialist referral point for Zurich employees.
- Promote knowledge transfer to claims departments and deliver training.
- Build relationships and deliver presentations to stakeholders, offering innovative rehabilitation solutions.
- Identify and address clinical training needs, coaching Claims Handlers
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for confident, skilled, and personable communicators who demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and motivation to make a positive impact. You’ll be highly organised, meticulous, and comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively. We value our Rehabilitation team engaging with our customers at all levels.
You will bring:
- Broad medical knowledge, particularly in musculoskeletal conditions and work-related stress, psychiatric trauma.
- Extensive trauma or orthopaedic experience, plus Mental Health First Aid certification
- Ideally, Occupational Health experience and private medical sector awareness
- Experience in insurance-based medical/vocational rehabilitation or occupational health
- NMC or HCPC registration and up-to-date clinical practice
- Strong analytical, risk management, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and IT literacy
- Ability to build positive relationships and influence change across all business levels.
- Organisational strengths to manage confidential data and meet deadlines.
- Confident delivering presentations to external customers and training internal teams.
