Life Actuarial Data Scientist

As new IFRS17 accounting concept designed for insurance industry becomes live in 2023, it creates a need for insurance companies to develop robust data systems and solutions for data analysis to enable efficient management decision making process in respect of underlying business performance. Your role


As Life Actuarial Data Scientist, your main responsibilities will involve:


  • Understand/learn key IFRS17 concepts and principles, specifically for Life insurance products 
  • Design and develop tools/solutions for Life actuarial data processing and analysis based on key stakeholders needs
  • Analyze large datasets to identify IFRS17 profit drivers, trends and patterns and make them useful by presenting the data in meaningful ways to facilitate efficient product and business decisions. 
  • Define/suggest data sets to be collected in the future to improve quality of the outputs
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand business intelligence needs and designs, develop and maintain tools and solutions to address those needs. 
  • Use human centered design techniques to ensure that products delivered are simple and intuitive for internal customers to use and inline with the data solutions strategy and roadmap. 
  • Ensure quality of master data in key systems. Create dictionaries of data models and documentation for mapping data. Analyze, trouble shoot and resolve issues with data solutions.


Your Skills and Experience


As Life Actuarial Data Scientist your skills and experience ideally include:


  • Experience with programming and data tools such as VBA, R, Python or SQL
  • Experience in preparing data and/or developing insights for use in business decisions
  • Experience with data visualization tools as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to translate technical results for business audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills and passion for data
  • English – B2 or better
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience with data management tools/software’s
  • Understanding of Life actuarial concepts (e.g. IFRS17) of an advantage


We offer


Minimal monthly salary offer is 2 200/gross plus other pay elements based on your experience.
