Data Analyst (Catastrophe Modelling) #LI-Hybrid
Support delivery of data-centric IT solutions for catastrophe portfolio modeling. Design and manage cloud-based data pipelines (Databricks/Azure), ensuring scalability, performance, and traceability.
Your role
As a Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:
- Design, document, and oversee data ingestion and transformation pipelines on cloud platforms.
- Translate business goals into clear requirements, user stories, and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with risk modelers and technical teams on workflows for exposure data and catastrophe model results.
- Analyze and transform diverse data sources for informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure alignment between business and technical stakeholders.
- Support development, testing, and release planning—emphasizing performance, security, and business value.
- Advocate for robust data architecture; liaise with Data Architects and Information Security.
- Provide functional consulting and drive adoption among internal users and data providers.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Data Analyst, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Expert T-SQL skills for complex querying and performance tuning.
- Experience with data science tools (e.g., R, Python).
- Strong background in data modeling, transformation, visualization, and governance.
- Hands-on with data pipelines/ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Jenkins).
- Able to design and manage data flows in cloud environments, familiarity with full software lifecycle.
- Experience supporting legacy platforms and leading requirements workshops.
- Skilled in stakeholder management within a matrixed organization.
- Proven agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with UAT, release planning, and performance/security validation.
- Familiarity with insurance risk modeling or exposure data.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Databricks.
- Exposure to catastrophe modeling platforms (RiskLink, Touchstone).
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting and internal risk frameworks.
- Insurance and catastrophe modeling expertise.
We offer
In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, is 2 900 EUR/gross. The final compensation package will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
