Data Science Engineer#LI-Hybrid
Are you a highly technical, hands-on, and innovative person who wants to have impact on corporate sustainability?
You will have chance to design and implement global data pipelines and support stakeholders on their Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) journey. The sustainability reporting team within Group Finance at Zurich proactively addresses changes and trends in the ESG legal and regulatory environment and demonstrates thought leadership in the areas of its responsibility.
Your role
As a Data Science Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Build ESG database systems (using different platforms – SAP)
- Design and implement methods to improve data reliability and quality for collecting, processing, and storing large datasets
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and aggregation to prepare data for analysis (various data flowing into material KPIs like CO2 emissions, HR data, Data points on data privacy & security, investment management data)
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure the consistent flow of data from source systems to data warehouses
- Create models for data aggregation to extract historical insights
- Automate tasks where manual participation can be eliminated
- Collaborate with data management analysts to ensure data is available and accessible for analysis
Your Skills and Experience
As a Data Science Engineer, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- 5+ years of experience on a similar position
- Understanding programming concepts of programming languages (such as Python, Java, or Scala)
- Experience with SQL and database management systems such as Databricks, Redshift or Snowflake
- Knowledge of data modelling, data management and automated data operations
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with creation of reports, dashboards and data sharing through APIs
- Experience in working with Agile methodology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Location(s): Bratislava
- Hybrid working: It would be nice to meet you in the office 2-3 times a week, if you live close by. We are also open to hear your preference to work from home more often
