Data Scientist for Global Rating Engine implementation

We are looking for a Data Scientist to support the development and maintenance of actuarial pricing tools and processes. This role bridges actuarial, data science, and IT functions, helping to ensure the quality, transparency, and scalability of pricing models and analytics. Use you data skills to come up with prices that are relevant, use your IT skills to help in translating business requirements into Python code and learn a lot about nuances of insurance products for companies. You will play a key role in enabling technical capabilities, supporting documentation, and fostering collaboration across teams. We are looking for a person who enjoys working on a variety of tasks rather than specializing.

 

Your role

As a Data Scientist, your main responsibilities will involve many of:

  • Gather data, analyze it and turn them into relevant pricing assumptions and rate tables
  • Use data skills to monitor that the algorithms deliver according to specification
  • Collaborating with data and platform teams to define and validate data inputs
  • Supporting the design and prototyping of pricing algorithms and their updates in Excel and Python
  • Assisting actuarial teams with version control, code navigation, and documentation

Your Skills and Experience

 As a Data Scientist, your skills and experience will ideally include:

 

  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in pricing, analytics, or technical actuarial roles
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic Python scripting (other languages like R are an advantage)
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Strong communication and prompt engineering skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a technical environment
  • Autonomous /Independent thinker
  • Actuarial qualification is a +

 

We offer

In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria is 2 000 EUR/gross. The final compensation package will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
