IT Actuarial Business Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled IT Actuarial Business Analyst to bridge the gap between actuarial teams and IT. This role is pivotal in translating actuarial requirements into robust technical solutions, with a strong focus on leveraging AI and automation to enhance existing actuarial processes.

Your role  

 

As the IT Actuarial Business Analyst, you would have the following responsibilities:

 

  • Actuarial Expertise in IT Projects:
    Serve as the actuarial subject matter expert within the IT team, ensuring actuarial principles and methodologies are accurately reflected in technical implementations.
  • Requirements Review & Analysis:
    Collaborate with actuarial stakeholders to gather, review, and refine business requirements. Translate these into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Solution Design & Conceptualization:
    Develop solution concepts and architecture for actuarial systems, including data flows, system interfaces, and automation strategies.
  • AI Use Case Development:
    Identify and design AI-driven enhancements for existing actuarial solutions (e.g., predictive modeling, anomaly detection, process optimization).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Act as a liaison between IT developers, data scientists, and actuarial teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation & Communication:
    Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, and user guides. Present solutions and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

As the IT Actuarial Business Analyst, your skills and qualifications will ideally include: 

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in actuarial modeling and analysis, ideally within insurance or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, data architecture, and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with AI/ML concepts and tools (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow, Azure ML).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Familiarity with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, AXIS).
  • Experience in agile project environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and data engineering tools.
