Junior AI Engineer #LI-Hybrid
We are looking for a highly motivated AI Use Case Engineer to join our Global Specialties organization, focusing on the Credit Lines / Underwriting domain. In this role, you will design, prototype and rollout AI use cases that streamline underwriting and credit processes. You will work closely with underwriters, data engineers and BI teams to turn ideas into working AI applications, primarily using modern Python based AI and analytics tooling. This role is ideal for early career to mid level AI engineers who enjoy building practical solutions end to end rather than doing research or pure software engineering.

Your role
As a Junior AI Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve:
- Designing and delivering end to end AI use cases to support underwriting and credit processes
- Rapidly prototyping AI solutions (POCs) and iterating based on business feedback
- Implementing AI applications using Python and large language models (LLMs)
- Structuring, validating and transforming data for AI workflows
- Creating simple APIs and services to expose AI logic to users or systems
- Working with internal Data Lake, BI and analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks)
- Supporting testing and validation to ensure AI outputs are fit for business use
- Contributing to the rollout of AI solutions into production environments
- Continuously improving solutions based on monitoring and user feedback
Your Skills and Experience
As a Junior AI Engineer your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Strong Python foundations and interest in applied AI / analytics
- Hands‑on experience (commercial or academic) with:
- LLMs or modern AI tooling
- Data processing and validation
- Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
- Willingness to work closely with underwriters and business users
- Pragmatic mindset: delivery, iteration, learning fast
- Experience with (or motivation to learn):

- Databricks or similar analytics platforms
- Basic API development (e.g. FastAPI)
- Containers (Docker) and cloud environments
Nice to have
- Prior experience in insurance, finance or risk domains
- Hackathon, internship or university AI project experience
We offer
In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, is 1850 EUR/gross. The final compensation package will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
