Reinsurance Accounting Specialist #LI-Remote

The Reinsurance Accounting Specialist is responsible for the reconciliation and settlement process between cedents (fronting company) and reinsurers (Producing Company). In order to be successful at this role solid relationships with cedents and reinsurers have to be built.
The Accounting Specialist functions as link between the Producing Country and the local fronting company in the areas of cash-flow management, reinsurance accounting and back office support.
The role ensures that reinsurance transactions are executed according to the Producing Countries’ requirements and according to the Zurich performance standards, Operating Directives as well as Network Service Centre and Clearing House specific processes.

Your role

As Reinsurance Accounting Specialist, your main responsibilities will include: 


  • Timely deliver correct accounting data for Reinsurance,
  • Handle technical accounting for International Programs,
  • Handle mismatches between cedents and Reinsurers (intercompany as well as externally),
  • Issue payment orders and clears open items with cash,
  • Act as human interface between PC’s and Partners and guide partners on premium/invoicing related issues,
  • Ensure high quality of information to all parties concerned and liaise closely with IP Operations and Network Management,
  • Support Partner Relationship Management by maintaining close day to day contact with peers at the partner offices.

Your Skills and Experience 

As Reinsurance Accounting Specialist, your skills and experience will ideally include:


  • At least 2 years of experience in Accounting
  • Business degree in business finance or equivalent
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Good communication, organisational and analytical skills
  • Highly motivated individual with a hunger to learn
  • Used to work under pressure


Nice to have:

  • Insurance or Reinsurance experience within international environment (preferred)
  • Good accounting knowledge in respect of Sub-Ledger (SAP FSCD) and General-Ledger (SAP)

We offer


Minimal monthly salary offer is 1700EUR/gross plus other pay elements based on your experience.

  • Remote working: Yes (Slovakia based), if possible we would like to meet with you more often in the few first weeks
  • Schedule: Full-time or shortened work schedule (We can provide 75% up to 100%)
