Senior Life Actuarial Modeling Specialist

As a Senior Actuarial Life Modeling Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our Group Life Model Risk Management team—delivering results that matter.

In this role, you won’t just validate life cash flow models—you’ll also help enhance our in-house life model validation software. Built in Python and engineered for speed and scalability, our platform leverages cutting-edge technologies such as Numba, Dask, NumPy, and Pandas to deliver efficient, transparent, and repeatable validation at scale.

Your role

As a Senior Life Actuarial Modeling Specialist, your main responsibilities will involve: 

  • Perform life model validations for key products and portfolios across global markets.
  • Contribute to software development efforts to expand and improve in-house validation tooling, including new features, testing frameworks, and automation.
  • Design, execute, and maintain validation tests, benchmarks, and reproducible workflows that scale with business needs.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Group Actuarial to ensure robust governance, documentation, and transparent communication of findings.
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Promote best practices in model risk management, validation standards, and code quality (including testing, version control, and CI/CD).
  • Mentor junior actuaries and foster knowledge sharing within the team and broader organization.

Your Skills and Experience

 

As a Senior Life Actuarial Modeling Specialist your skills and experience will ideally include:

  • Advanced degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
  • Experience in a life insurance company (reserving, pricing, capital management, etc.)
  • Prior involvement in model development, validation or audit
  • 7+ years of experience with life insurance actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, RAFM/MoSes, AXIS, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of model development and model risk management principles and best practices
  • Proficient in programming languages used in actuarial modeling (Python preferred, VBA, R)
  • Familiarity with IFRS17, SST and/or Solvency II frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Results-oriented and reliable
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
  • Eager to learn and grow, with a positive attitude toward change
  • Strong communication skills in English

 

We offer 

In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, is 3700 EUR/gross The final compensation package will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
