We are looking for a Senior Pricing Python Developer to join the Zurich Integrated Benefits (ZIB) team—an entrepreneurially minded global team managing employee benefit platforms and providing technical expertise for corporate life insurance across multiple markets. 

 

Your role

As a Senior Pricing Python Developer, your main responsibilities will involve: 

 

  • Drive initiatives: Proactively identify opportunities, take ownership of projects from conception to completion, and make decisions that move the team forward. 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships: Act as a key technical contact for actuaries and business stakeholders across multiple markets, translating their needs into actionable technical requirements. 
  • Support team coordination: Help with planning, coordinate workstreams, mentor junior developers, and support task prioritization for smooth project delivery. 
  • Provide technical guidance: Guide team members through complex challenges, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices are followed. 
  • Design and architect solutions: Transform legacy pricing tools into modern pricing APIs built with Python and hosted on Databricks. 
  • Create innovative features: Build brand new pricing calculation engines addressing emerging business needs. 
  • Optimize and monitor: Improve existing pricing calculations for performance and set up automated health monitoring checks and reports. 

 

Your Skills and Experience

As a Senior Pricing Python Developer, your skills and experience will ideally include: 

 

Organizational and interpersonal skills:  

  • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects independently  
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and translating business needs into technical solutions  
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills  
  • Experience mentoring junior developers  
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences 

 

Technical skills:  

  • 4+ years of experience with Python, including Pandas, MLFlow and Numpy  
  • Strong experience with Databricks and SQL databases  
  • Solid understanding of software development toolkit (Git, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines)  
  • Deep knowledge of development and deployment best practices  
  • Ability to architect scalable and maintainable solutions 

 

Good to have:  

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure toolset (Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Databricks)  
  • Experience with .NET (C#)  
  • Prior work experience in insurance or finance industry

We offer

In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the minimum gross monthly compensation for this position is 3000 EUR/gross. The final package will depend on qualifications and relevant experience.
