Customer Account Executive (Part-time, Job-share, Full-time)
Location: Chichester
Closing date for applications: 13th November 2024
The opportunity:
Do you want to begin a career in the insurance industry, gain professional qualifications and work for a company who genuinely cares about your wellbeing? If so, this opportunity is for you! We’re looking for someone ambitious and empathetic to join our team in Chichester as a Customer Account Executive.
Zurich Municipal is a direct dealing commercial business, dedicated to the public and voluntary sector. Operating on both a direct basis, and alongside brokers in a tripartite relationship, we embed ourselves within markets developing meaningful and longstanding relationships at all levels.
We are seen as market leaders who support the full breadth of the sectors in which we operate, partnering with customers over long-term agreements. We operate with a segmented sales and customer relationship model with dedicated market underwriters, supported by a network of claims teams.
Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
Successful candidates will required to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days a week during training and then 2-3 days as the business requires, the office is not accessible via public transport.
What will you be doing?
Your journey at Zurich will begin in our Customer Services team as a trainee Customer Account Executive. You’ll spend the first 3 – 6 months learning everything you need to know about the industry and about our products, whilst doing basic customer service tasks, to support our Account Managers and get a feel for the business.
By the end of year 1, we’d expect you to have passed our internal underwriting exams and gained your Certificate in Insurance, which involves passing three external exams. Upon completion of your exams, you’ll become a qualified Customer Account Executive.
But training and development does not stop there. It is down to you to manage your career, and your professional development: our role, as an employer is to support you as best we can, and we take that very seriously.
Colleagues have gone on to become Customer Account Managers, achieve the Diploma in Insurance or have switched to work in other areas of the business and gain professional qualifications, for example in finance or marketing.
So, who are we looking for?
We are looking for people either taking the first step in their career or looking for a change of career, who can demonstrate that they have what it takes to:
- Learn new skills
- Work in a team
- Communicate effectively
- Empathise with customers and colleagues
- Achieve challenging goals
Ideally, you will have previous customer service experience, which you may have gained working in any industry. What is really important is your passion to learn, progress and provide our customers with a second to none service.
We think our office is an amazing place to work. A sleek converted barn about one mile outside Chichester in West Sussex. In fact, some of our latest recruits said: “The office is a fantastic place to work” – “you will want to come in here” - “it’s about as nice as you could get!”
