MAINFRAME (AS400) DEVELOPER

Job Description

• Acts in the highest-level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives. 
• Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. 
• Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. 
• Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. 
• Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. 
• Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process
• Analyze business requirements then design, create and maintain applications using RPG IV on IBM AS400 platform
• Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written, coded, tested, debugged and documented
• Utilize technology to solve problems and provide software solutions with varying degrees of complexity
• Work directly with department users to innovate and improve operations & processes
• Drive to completion all phases of application development

Basic Qualifications

• Advanced English Level
• 4 years of professional experience with application development - using RPG IV, ILE RPG and CL on AS/400
• 4+ years of extensive SQL knowledge, including writing scripts and stored procedures
• Microsoft SQL Server development /SSRS
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• Microsoft .NET tools
• Independently motivated, detail-oriented, and able to maintain focus on long-term projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within the company
• Proven problem-solving and time management skills
• Results-oriented; demonstrated sense of urgency and commitment to achieve efficient and accurate results.
• Committed to the highest levels of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
