ServiceNow UX Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer with a focus on all aspects of the User Experience to join our ServiceNow Center of Excellence and Innovation in support of the expansion of the global Service Now Platform for Zurich Insurance.

As a ServiceNow Developer you will be responsible for configuring, administering and scripting on the ServiceNow Platform. The ServiceNow team implements, supports, maintains, operates and upgrades ServiceNow enterprise solutions. The main responsibilities of this role will be to carry out Development activities that primarily focusses on developing solutions that enhance all aspects of the User experience. This includes but is not limited to :-

  • Implementing dynamic and responsive Service Portals and end user mobile and/or web based interfaces on the Service Now Platform.  
  • Build custom widgets as necessary to meet customer needs
  • Creating and implementing complex pages
  • Help define Zurich’s standard for Service Portal implementations

 The role also includes quickly resolving level 3 Incident tickets, actioning Service Requests, developing solution enhancements and Project deployments on behalf of our key stakeholders. The successful candidate must establish and maintain relationships both within Zurich and with external clients, building a trusted partnership with the business POs for User Experience. The role also includes assisting ServiceNow Business Analysts in estimating release level of effort.  We are seeking a proven expert in the development of ServiceNow Portals, Virtual agent and Web interfaces.  The role will suit someone who has a background in Web development.

 

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3- years minimum’ experience directly with development in ServiceNow
  • 3 - years experience designing user interfaces/user experience capabilities
  • ServiceNow Fundamentals and/or Developer Certified.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying ServiceNow framework and architecture, which includes understanding relational databases.
  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency with implementation, configuration, and design of ServiceNow Portals and Web interfaces.
  • Experience with Apache, Angular, Jelly or similar general web technologies, including Javascript and HTML/CSS.
  • Demonstrate strong technical (English) communication skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts in great detail, clearly, to other technical people and non-technical people.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding in the following ServiceNow technologies/modules:
    • Project/Portfolio Suite
    • Incident, Problem, Major Incident Management and Change Management
    • CMDB
    • HR Case Management
    • Discovery & Asset Management
    • Service Portal
    • ServiceNow Team Development (Tool)
    • IRM/VR

 

  • Demonstrate experience interacting with IT Leadership at all levels.
  • Demonstrate experience with Agile delivery methodology
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying ServiceNow framework and architecture.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

 

  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with external integrations and authentication technologies with ServiceNow Service Portal
  • ITIL Foundation Certified
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Client Facing Communications (Oral, Written)
