This is a full-time hybrid role where you will be working from our office in The Hague, Netherlands. Working part-time can be discussed.

 

Role Overview

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes while supporting the operational continuity of our Credit Management and Accounts Receivable function. This position is essential to streamline transaction processing, minimize backlogs, and enhance overall cash flow performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor outstanding receivables to ensure timely and accurate customer payments
  • Process and allocate incoming and outgoing payments, including daily cash application and reconciliation of bank transactions
  • Support in reducing backlogs and improving turnaround times on receivables
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on receivables, aging balances, and cash flow status
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies in line with Zurich’s ICIF and CECS frameworks
  • Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits related to receivables

 

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in financial operations, preferably in banking, credit management, or accounts receivable.
  • Strong operational mindset: able to book, allocate cash, and manage financial processes independently.
  • SAP and Excel skills required, you are a quick learner with other systems.
  • Dutch and English fluency is required.
  • Experience with financial transactional processes or administrative financial tasks is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks (e.g. ICIF, CECS) is a plus
