Lean Six Sigma Consultant

To further support our growth we are currently on the lookout for a Lean Six Sigma black belt within our operations team. This is a fulltime hybrid role (parttime can be discussed) where you are based out of either our office in The Hague in the Netherlands or Zaventem in Belgium.
Key responsibilities
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, interpret, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data using statistical tools to identify root causes of process issues.
- Process Analysis and Improvement: Map, analyse, and redesign business processes to eliminate waste, reduce variation. Identify potential improvement initiatives to increase quality and efficiency and execute them.
- Reporting and Documentation: Create clear project documentation, progress reports, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) or DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify).
- Change Management: Guide teams and stakeholders through process changes by communicating value, addressing resistance, and ensuring sustainable adoption of improvements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, process owners, and team members to align improvement projects with strategic business goals.

Your ability to apply Lean methodologies in a complex insurance environment, combined with your communication skills, enables you to drive meaningful change and support our teams in delivering exceptional value to our customers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (Master’s preferred);
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification;
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in process improvement or operational excellence roles. Experience in consultancy is a strong plus;
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills;
- Experience with statistical software and process improvement methodologies;
- Excellent English & Dutch skills (oral & written) is required. French is an asset;
- Willingness to travel between locations when required.
Skills:
- Statistical and Technical Proficiency: Experience with statistical analysis tools (such as Minitab, JMP, Excel) and familiarity with tools such as process mapping, value stream mapping, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, etc.);
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems, interpret data, and develop actionable insights;
- Problem-Solving: Expertise in root cause analysis, brainstorming, and creative solution development;
- Business Acumen: Understanding of organizational objectives, financial impacts, and the broader business context of improvement initiatives;
- Project Management: Skilled in planning, executing, and monitoring projects, including resource allocation and timeline management;
- Communication: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills for influencing stakeholders and documenting findings;
- Change Management: Experience in navigating organizational culture, managing resistance, and enabling successful transformation;
- Leadership: Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams while driving results through collaboration;
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with evolving Lean Six Sigma methodologies and industry best practices.
