An exciting opportunity is available for you to join our team as an Underwriting Excellence Coordinator, where you will manage our underwriting compliance framework and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our underwriting processes. In this role, you will not only oversee the “Zurich Way” of underwriting, but also collaborate with colleagues to uphold strong underwriting governance and drive excellence across the organization.
This is a fulltime hybrid role where you will be working from our office in The Hague, Netherlands. Working parttime can be discussed (minimum of 4 days per week).
Role Overview:
As Underwriting Excellence Coordinator, you will leverage your passion and experience in underwriting to manage our compliance framework and champion improvements across our underwriting processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the business across the Beneux, drawing on your motivation to deepen specialized knowledge of insurance products, industries, and markets. Together with your colleagues you will actively support the development of policies, governance, and regulatory standards within underwriting, helping to define Zurich's policy position and consistently ensure regulatory compliance organization-wide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of an underwriting strategy aligned with global General Insurance Portfolio management.
- Coordinate and support portfolio and performance management, including profitability and growth analysis, recommending changes or remedial actions as needed.
- Champion The Zurich Way of Underwriting and Pricing in collaboration with designated business unit contacts.
- Promote consistency of underwriting across business units through common methodology, tools, assumptions, and governance.
- Maintain the underwriting policy and guideline control framework, providing input into General Insurance policies and guidelines.
- Monitor compliance and intervene to investigate or correct breaches or misinterpretation.
- Oversee the internal control framework for underwriting, conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring compliance with Group risk mitigation actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and foundational experience in underwriting.
- Highly organized, with strong time management and multi-project capabilities.
- Fluent in both English and Dutch.
- Persuasive, confident communicator able to connect with stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Effective team player as well as an independent contributor.
- Proactive and able to show initiative.
- Excellent administrative and processing skills.
