Senior AEI Reporting Specialist

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior AEI Reporting Specialist to join our Retail Operations Reporting team, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) for Automatic Exchange of Information (AEI) reporting.
This is a senior-level specialist position where you will combine deep technical expertise in AEI (CRS, FATCA) with oversight of reporting delivery, process control, and change implementation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all regulatory reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant, while also supporting team development and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:
AEI SME & Reporting Oversight
- Act as the go-to expert for AEI reporting, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of CRS and FATCA regulations.
- Oversee the end-to-end AEI reporting process.
- Provide technical guidance and challenge to ensure high-quality, compliant reporting
- Support complex cases and escalations, including recalcitrant accounts and high-risk scenarios.
- Serve as a key contact for internal stakeholders, Compliance, and audit queries.
Control, Quality & Delivery
- Ensure delivery against strict regulatory deadlines.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and emerging issues affecting reporting quality.
- Review outputs to detect trends impacting data quality and compliance.
- Support the Team Manager with workload oversight, prioritisation, and delivery across reporting cycles.
Change, Impact & Implementation
- Lead or support impact assessments for regulatory or system changes.
- Translate complex regulatory updates into clear operational processes.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and knowledge sharing.
- Support testing and implementation of changes across AEI reporting.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
- Drive or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support process redesign and simplification to enhance outcomes.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, proactive, and confident in influencing others.
Key skills and experience:
- Typically experience in financial services operations, regulatory reporting, or tax reporting.
- Strong, demonstrable expertise in AEI regimes (CRS, FATCA) and their practical application.
- In-depth understanding of data, controls, and reconciliation in a reporting environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working across multiple systems.
- Proven ability to operate in a high-risk, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience supporting or leading change initiatives (impact analysis, testing, implementation).
- Strong ability to interpret regulations and translate them into operational processes.
- Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders and provide challenge.
- Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues as a technical escalation point.
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with a willingness to drive positive change.
