We are looking for a seasoned Claims Adjuster to join and play a key role in the expansion of our Claims Team. This individual will resolve claims at the highest authority levels on commercial reinsurance claims reflecting the highest degree of technical complexity.

Job Accountabilities

As Claims Adjuster, your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Act as a technical expert for own team, and internal business partners and provides insights to help improve product offerings, risk assessments and policy language
  • Assess damages and negotiate settlement of claim by establishing an appropriate negotiation strategy
  • Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout the claims cycle within authority limits
  • Use judgment to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analysing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within the coverage
  • Work to have a timely resolution to claims by developing case strategy, developing a case evaluation; escalating issues as appropriate
  • Ensures customer service by proactively communicating information, responding to inquiries following customer service protocols
  • Contributes to profitable growth by providing risk insight, information and trends to Business Unit or customer as needed
  • Managing a large portfolio of claims and balancing service deliverables
  • Manages litigation by assigning counsel within the approved panel and establish litigation plan and budget
  • Preparing reports and analysing data to present to management

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and more than 5+ years of experience within a Claims Operation environment within Commercial Insurance industry or loss adjusting practice
  • Must have a Certificate/ Diploma/ Associate - CII/ CILA
  • Sound understanding of commercial insurance business is essential combined with reinsurance fundamentals
  • Strong negotiation skills combined with an investigative ability
  • Fluency in English language skills, both written and spoken (Arabic desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to integrate quickly with a small team and act as a role model
