Compliance Assurance Manager - M.E

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Assurance Manager is expected to implement and deliver Compliance Assurance strategy and framework for their organization unit along with the requirements of the Zurich Compliance Program and the Group Compliance Strategy. Works with all lines of business on complex compliance policies and regulations. Delivers reporting material on Assurance subjects as well as provides recommendations on Compliance communication as directed. The role would also require preparing and submitting compliance reports within BU, Legal Entity and Group wherever necessary.
Job Accountabilities
As Compliance Assurance Manager, your role will involve:
Functional Management:
- Implement and execute on the organizational unit's Assurance obligations under the Zurich Compliance Program to provide adequate and consistent assurance that Compliance Risks are identified and adequately managed.
- Collaborates and provides guidance on assurance subjects both within and outside the Compliance function to achieve consistent assurance results.
- Partners with business management on complex compliance policies and regulations to identify and manage Compliance Risks.
Business Set-up/Governance:
- Partners with other assurance providers (e.g. Group Audit, Risk Management) across the three lines of defense as directed by Team Lead or Local Compliance Officer to minimize overlaps and inefficiencies in providing assurance.
- Prepare adequate reporting materials for the Compliance function and its stakeholders (i.e. Executive Committee, governance committees and business management) as directed by more senior/experienced colleagues (i.e. Senior Compliance Assurance Consultant, Team Lead or Local Compliance Officer).
Stakeholders Management:
- Recognize and collaborate with internal stakeholders on their understanding and support of the Compliance Assurance activities and prioritization.
Compliance Assurance:
- Collaborates in the Compliance Risk Assessment process providing inputs recommendations from an assurance perspective to achieve adequate prioritization and address regulatory requirements, business concerns and compliance risk exposure.
- Conduct simple and moderate complex assurance activities and contribute to more complex assurance activities to deliver the assurance plan.
- Contributes to the creation of action plans to address identified findings and in cooperation with the business.
- Assist in preparing adequate reporting regarding progress against assurance plan, significant results, and bring to the attention of team lead escalation of overdue issues.
- Partners with other assurance providers to minimize overlaps and inefficiencies with assurance activities/processes.
- Make recommendations to further increase the effectiveness of the assurance section of the Zurich Compliance Program applying to the organizational unit.
- Coordinate with internal and external assurance provider and 3rd party suppliers where relevant.
Project Management:
- May lead or contribute to project efforts (within the compliance assurance team or in collaboration with other compliance teams and/or other areas of the company) as instructed by more senior/experienced colleagues (i.e. Senior Compliance Assurance Consultant, Team Lead or Local Compliance Officer).
- Supporting activity and monitoring project at appropriate times.
- Provide input from an assurance perspective.
- Coordinate with the business units for business communication, smooth project execution and observations sharing as instructed by more senior/ experienced colleagues.
Reporting:
- Supports Team lead / LCO to provide adequate compliance assurance reporting to business management.
Job Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you must have:
- Bachelor 's Degree (or equivalent) and 6 or more years of experience in related field.
- Local regulatory knowledge and previous approvals highly preferred - CBB, DFSA, QFCRA, CB UAE
- Professional Certification in Compliance or Internal Audit is highly preferred - ACAMS, ICA etc.
- Experience in Compliance, Legal and Regulatory Environment within the Insurance industry.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office packages– Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal in English. Arabic lingual skills would be a plus.
