We are looking for a Lead Claims Adjuster to join and play a key role in our Commercial Insurance Middle East, Claims Team. This individual will handle single and multi-party commercial reinsurance claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity within specific authority limits, to ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric claims service and align with Claims Management strategy.

Job Accountabilities

As a Lead Technical Claims Adjuster within the reinsurance industry, your responsibilities will involve:

  • Analyze and determine liability by gathering relevant facts and documents.
  • Ensure to have a timely resolution to claims by developing case evaluation and strategy.
  • Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing reviews throughout the claims cycle within your authority limits.
  • Assess damages and negotiate settlement of claims by establishing an appropriate negotiation strategy.
  • Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insight, industry information and trends.
  • Protect the organization's reputation by keeping claims information confidential.
  • Understand the current industry trends and establish personal networks.

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum University Degree and Cert CII / Cert CILA and must also be willing to work towards ACII.
  • With 5 to 10 years’ experience handling or adjusting claims in a Commercial Insurance environment.
  • Claims Analysis: Ability to accurately document, gather facts, analyze evidence, and determine liability.
  • Policy Interpretation: Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage terms, and exclusions.
  • Negotiation: Skilled in developing negotiation strategies and settling claims effectively.
  • Case Strategy: Competence in developing case strategies, evaluations, and managing claim life cycles.
  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of laws, regulations, and Zurich’s internal controls.
  • Vendor & Litigation Management: Knowledge of claims vendor management and assigning counsel appropriately.
  • Continuous Learning: Staying up to date with industry trends, networking, and professional society participation.
