As our Head of Data Strategy for the GI Business, you’ll orchestrate the transformation of how we use data and make it available to those that need it.   


You will lead a team of data professionals and engage a community of data subject matter experts across the business to harness the power of our data and transform the way we do business.  Your leadership and strategic mindset will drive our most ambitious data initiatives, turning complex information into competitive advantage that reshapes the business.  


This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.  Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What you’ll do: 


•    Design and implement the data use strategy for the GI Business, aligning with Zurich’s global vision for innovation and customer-centricity.
•    Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing data team and enable data SME’s across the organisation
•    Lead, enable and implement use cases of utilising advanced analytics and AI.  
•    Build partnerships across business and technology teams to maximize the value of our data assets. 
•    Embed a data-driven culture, ensuring data is at the heart of every decision. 
•    Identify new data opportunities—whether that’s improving customer journeys, supporting underwriting excellence, or enabling new digital solutions.

•    A visionary leader with deep expertise in data and analytics. 
•    A collaborator, able to inspire teams and build strong relationships across the business. 
•    Passionate about using data to solve real-world problems and enhance customer value. 
•    Driven by innovation, with a track record of delivering results.

Qualifications

 

•    5+ years of experience in data strategy or data management related work, preferably in the insurance, financial or customer service sector.
•    Proven track record of leading and developing organisational Data Strategies and delivering against these 
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead and develop high-performing data teams
•    Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology or similar.   Master’s degree preferred.
•    Strong expertise in data science and modern data platforms (e.g. Databricks, 
•    Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and programming skills in Python, SQL, and JSON.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to data management and transformation.
•    Deep knowledge of data governance and security policies.
•    Knowledge of Automation Tools an advantage (e.g. Blue Prism)

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Dublin or Wexford but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations. Hybrid working will be faciliated as part of our way of working.
