.NET Developer


Job Summary

Zurich Insurance Plc is looking for a .NET Developer to lead the end-to-end delivery of the business-critical software enhancements, work in a wider project team on the end to end testing of complex software solutions and manage off shore development team ensuring quality of delivery. You will assume ownership of existing .NET based application suite and develop strategies to refresh .NET based application suite including developing a strategy to refresh existing .NET based web services. You will also monitor and be proactive on the security of .NET based application suite.

Your Role

As a .NET Developer your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Working on cross functional project team implement complex business solution
  • Lead on decision making on the design of solutions to support the Program delivery
  • Upskilling of & supporting existing team members
  • Tracking, control and resolution of software issues and queries.
  • Ensure all application documentation is maintained and regularly updated 

Additional Job Functions:

  • Builds good working relationships with Enterprise Solutions Lead, Enterprise Architect, Team members within IT Department, Test Team and Project Management.
  • Ability to help keep team motivated in high pressure situations.
  • Experience in all areas of the testing life cycle.
  • Responds maturely to ambiguity and complexity.

Technical Skills

Web Technologies:          

  • HTML, HTML5, CSS3, XHTML, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, Twitter  Bootstrap, React JS 

Development tools:        

  • Visual Studio 2015 onwards 

Debugging tools:           

  • Chrome Developer Tools, 


  • .Net Frameworks, .Net Core, React JS, Node JS, 


  • Windows Server 2008 (IIS 7), Windows 2016 (IIS 10) 


  • Agile, Waterfall 


  • PostgreSQL, SQL Server 2008 & 2012; DB2 


  • C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, XML, JSON, Javascript

DevOps Tools:          

  • Bit Bucket, Confluence, Jira, Bamboo

Additional Information

Primary work location is Dublin. Position is Ballsbridge-based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
