The opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Motor Fleet Underwriter to join our established Mid Market team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of underwriting motor fleet insurance policies, contributing to profitable growth while building trusted, longterm relationships with brokers and clients.

What you’ll be doing:

Assess and underwrite motor fleet insurance risks within the Mid Market segment, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients and key stakeholders to support business growth and retention.

Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for new business and product development.

Provide technical underwriting expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and other team members.

Collaborate closely with sales and distribution teams to achieve business targets and deliver excellent customer service.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of underwriting documentation and policy issuance.

Monitor and manage the performance of the motor fleet portfolio, taking corrective actions where required to maintain profitability.

Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and improvement initiatives.

Underwrite risks in line with underwriting appetite and strategy, supporting both new business and renewal opportunities.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting, claims and distribution to deliver highquality customer outcomes.
What you’ll bring:

Experience in motor fleet underwriting, ideally within the Mid Market segment.

Strong knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory environment.

A proven track record of delivering profitable growth and building strong client and broker relationships.

Excellent analytical and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and propose appropriate solutions.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

A proactive, resultsoriented approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Confidence to make sound decisions and challenge constructively where needed
