Legal and compliance Assistant Manager

SUMMARY:

Collaborates in providing the structure enabling the Legal and Compliance function to operate efficiently and effectively. Supports in developing and facilitating consistent execution of the Legal and Compliance operating model, especially retail business operations. Supports maintaining and provides input to enhance processes and procedures for the general operation of the Legal and Compliance function and its related activities. Supports coordination of cross-functional processes and projects.

 

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Review and comment on the policy wordings and provide legal advice, especially retail business;
  2. Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements;
  3. Provide timely, commercial orientated legal and compliance advice to enable the business to execute its strategic goals;
  4. Support implementation of APAC and global legal and compliance projects within group-wide legal and compliance framework;
  5. Prepare regulatory reports for the headquarters and branches in accordance with the requirements of local regulator;
  6. Organize compliance self-inspection and assurance work in accordance with Group and APAC compliance requirements, and provide guidance and training to first-line staff;
  7. Assist the head of the Legal and Compliance Department in handling anti-money laundering, sanction screening work for headquarters and branches;
  8. Other tasks assigned by department head.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  1. University degree or equivalent required, PRC bar is required
  2. 5 or more years of related experience in the insurance service industry, especially retail business experience
  3. Good at English and Chinese (Oral and Written)
  4. Good general experience in Legal and Compliance area of work
