We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Market Facing Underwriter, Liability to join our dynamic team in Helsinki. If you enjoy building relationships, analysing risk, and driving new business, this could be your next exciting challenge!

Underwriter Liability, Finland

As an underwriter, you will be responsible for your own portfolio and customers with assignments such as premium setting, quotations, negotiations and measuring exposure and analyzing risk. You will underwrite new and renewal business and build relationships in support of customer/business acquisition and retention. You will also proactively contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights. As well as proactively seek new business opportunities and in time work as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications:

• Academic degree in Law, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• Previous experience with commercial insurance is highly valued.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other relevant industries will be considered a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Finnish, equivalent to C2 level, are required.

Skills and competencies:

• Eager to deliver great customer service and build positive relationships.
• Willingness to learn about the underwriting process and insurance products.
• Interest in developing knowledge of risk analysis, selection and pricing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ready to learn negotiation and sales techniques.
• Confident in presenting ideas, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
• Interest in gaining technical knowledge of underwriting core processes.
• Keen to develop risk and business awareness.
