Underwriter Property to Zurich Nordic

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our Underwriting Property team, working from our Finnish, hybrid office in Helsinki.

 

Underwriter Property, Finland

As an underwriter, you will build up and be responsible for your own portfolio of contracts and corporate customers with assignments such as risk selection, pricing, coverage quotations, contract negotiations and measuring exposure and analyzing risk. You will underwrite new and renewal business and will build relationships in support of customer/business acquisition and retention. You will also proactively contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights. A strong candidate will also be expected to proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, demonstrating a strategic mindset and a drive to contribute to Zurich’s growth in the market.

 

As a person, you are a team player and an analytical thinker. You are data driven and have a strong business and customer focus as well as interest in customer relationships and negotiation. You are fast moving and flexible. You like working independently but with good abilities to co-operate with both customers and colleagues.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience or familiarity with corporate property insurance, gained through roles in the insurance industry (e.g. insurer, insurance broker, corporate risk and insurance management or related field), with a willingness to further develop technical expertise.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, risk management, economics or equivalent field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Finnish.

 

Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Strong data processing skills and analytical mindset.
  • Knowledge of risk selection and pricing and other core elements within underwriting.
  • Strong negotiation skills and sales oriented.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • High level of risk- and business awareness.
