Senior Claims Handler
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.
Location: We’re flexible, though some travel will be required

The opportunity:
Working within the Specialist Casualty Team in Large and Complex Claims, reporting to the Specialist Casualty Team Leader.
The role of Senior Claims Handler is to deliver a high-quality and cost-effective claims service for Zurich and its customers, applying technical expertise to a wide range of complex claim types arising within the Casualty portfolio. The successful candidate will personally manage a portfolio of approximately 200 complex claims with an initial authority of £250,000 to a high standard.
The Specialist Casualty Team services all market facing units and deals with claims from all UK jurisdictions. Current team members are based around the country. Some travel may be required to attend meetings/conferences where virtual attendance is not possible or appropriate.
The selected individual will be joining a highly experienced team, providing first class service to our customers.
This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time
What will you be doing?
- Review, resolve, and proactively finalise complex claims within your authority limits, ensuring optimal settlements with business implications in mind
- Promptly handle and resolve technical enquiries from customers and external contacts to deliver a focused and exceptional claims service
- Demonstrate role model behaviours and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture, making teamwork enjoyable and effective
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required
- Contribute to the wider Large & Complex claims strategy
Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience in handling Casualty claims
- Proficiency in managing a large portfolio of claims from cradle to grave
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of self-management.
- Solid knowledge of Casualty policy cover, industry protocols, legislation, fraud and legal liability
- High level knowledge of internal governance procedures and requirements
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
- Collaborative team player and evidence of building strong relationships
- CII Diploma qualified or significant progress towards (2 modules completed)
- Forward thinking individual open to considering new processes
