Job Summary
- Responsible for handling of Employees’ Compensation (EC) claims with focus on liability, investigation
- Accountable for Large and Complex claims handling and managerial support
- Provide quality and professional claims service to customers
Job Accountabilities
- Review, resolve and proactively finalize claims within authority limits ensuring settlement at an optimum level
- Develop a claim case strategy to ensure appropriate reserves are assigned, with investigations conducted and appropriate suppliers engaged
- Take proactive approach in monitoring Employees’ Compensation claims in order to minimize claims settlement
- Build up relationship with all stakeholders and achieve compromised settlement to conclude the case at the earliest and avoid litigation
- Provide quality customer service to clients
- Ensure claims procedures, documentation is adhered to the group claims management requirement and best practice
- Report to Claims Manager on adverse trend of development of claims and/or for clients with adverse claims experience
- Ensure all claims are processed effectively according to the company policies; set and monitor reserve adequately and timely and ensure the authoritative level laid down are complied
- Identify all potential recovery and fraud cases
- Perform any other duties, task oriented or claims related as may be delegated by Claims Manager
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above with related claims experience
- 5 years or above experience in Employee’s Compensation (EC) and Liability claims, preferably with large and complex claims management skill
- Diploma holder with solid claims handling experience will also be considered
- Achieved recognised industry standard (e.g. Snr Asso. of ANZIIF)
- Experience in EC & Liability claims handling
- Experience in EC & Liability claims with good customer service skill is a must
- Legal knowledge is an advantageous
- Data analytical skill is preferred
- Technical knowledge of products and services
- Technical claims handling knowledge of Employees’ Compensation and Liability
- Understand local legislation and legal liability
- Good knowledge of Employees‘ Compensation Ordinance
- Understand industry standards and protocol
- Knowledge of claims agreements
- Interpretation of policy over Knowledge and application of the litigation process
- Extensive experience with all major aspects of the claims adjustment process.
- Good command of written & spoken English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
- Negotiation skill, both written and verbal
- Be able to articulate how to prioritize and work to deadlines
- Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
- Common sense
- Knowledge on PC software
- Candidates will less experience can be considered as Senior Claims Officer
