Claims Officer (Motor)


Job Summary

  • With moderate supervision to manage medium standard (moderate severity / complexity) third party recovery in most effective, efficient way whilst delivering a customer centric claims service in a manner which supports Zurich Basics


Job Accountabilities

  • Promptly handle recovery action after own damages claims is completed and take responsibility to negotiate with liable parties and resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts
  • Develop a recovery strategy to ensure that appropriate actions are taken for increasing the successful rate of recovery
  • Acquire and efficiently organize the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the claim and chance of recovery
  • Adhere to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the claim to ensure that we make the decisions by using the right standards
  • Refer to customer specific claims handling protocol and/or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand & fulfill the needs and expectations of our customers
  • Attend courts to carry out legal proceedings/solving disputes on recovery actions  


Job Qualifications

  • Preferably educated to a higher standard of education, i.e. Degree holder and/or equivalent working experience
  • 2 to 3 years motor claims experience
  • ANZIIF/ACII would be an asset
  • Moderate technical claims handling knowledge within motor claim
  • Own damage and third-party liability claims assessment
  • Knowledge in insurance principles & Small Claims procedure
  • Technical Knowledge on motor products and services
  • Be able to articulate how to prioritize and work to deadlines
  • Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
  • Common sense
  • Negotiation skill
  • Knowledge on PC software
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with less relevant experience can be considered for Claims Assistant position
