Underwriting Account Service Manager I
Zurich North America is hiring an Underwriting Account Service Manager for our Middle Markets team in Independence, OH.

As a member of Zurich’s leadership team, you will have the opportunity to lead, motivate and develop the Underwriting Account Servicing team to develop and deliver customer-specific, value-added services for existing and new large accounts.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing all operational activities associated with high volume, mid-size to large accounts.
- Managing a team of 5-6 Underwriting Associates, end to end and as the point of contact for customers and underwriting leadership
- Ensuring teams meeting key operational performance goals.
- Regular performance evaluations.
- Managing the workflow and distribution of work amongst team members.
- Performing customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies and answering policy coverage related questions.
- Participating in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters
- Providing oversight and leading key check point processes for teams
- Coordinating relevant agenda, communications, and discussion points for regional meetings and trainings
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate’s Degree and 4 or more years’ experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
AND - Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of Commercial Insurance lines of business
- Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory guidelines
- People management or supervisory experience
- Ability to manage and build rapport with team
- Advanced skills in problem solving, relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiation
- Excellent organizational, written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity in Banking, Finance or Personal Lines of insurance
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $74,300.00 - $121,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
