Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory functions within the organization. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in legal matters, compliance, and regulatory affairs to ensure that the company operates within the legal frameworks and maintains high standards of corporate governance.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced degree in law, business, or related field.
Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the legal and regulatory services team.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance on legal and regulatory matters to senior management.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and systems.

Legal Advisory:
- Advise the board of directors, senior management, and other stakeholders on legal issues and risks.
- Oversee the preparation and review of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Regulatory Affairs:
- Monitor and analyze regulatory changes and developments that may affect the organization.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with new and existing regulations.
- Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and represent the organization in regulatory matters.

Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Corporate Governance:
- Ensure the organization adheres to corporate governance best practices.
- Oversee the organization’s corporate governance framework and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance on corporate governance issues to the board and senior management.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Work with external legal counsel as needed.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings.
