Valuation Actuary Lead - Zurich Topas Life

Job Summary

Leads a team with overall responsibility for managing the reserving, valuation, pricing or risk management process for the assigned portfolio and provides support and recommendations to the relevant chief actuary, actuarial business partners or risk officer, including insights into risks, underlying performance and implications for the business.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Actuarial Science
• 8+ year experience working in Life Insurance industry with proven leadership ability
• Experience in building pricing tools
• Python (very desirable)

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Manage and deliver timely Group and Local financial reports, both for Pre-Close and Close items, for actuarial aspects.
• Prepare and submit regular and ad-hoc regulatory reports to authorities (e.g., OJK).
• Oversee, assess, and enhance process based on Zurich's Internal Controls Integrated Framework (ICIF) principle; implement action plans for effectiveness.
• Manage and deliver reinsurance reporting process, for both Group reports, Local reports, and Reinsurer reporting.
• Manage actuarial model governance and process, including proactively assess and translate business events into model requirements.

Strategic Projects & Data Analytics

• Drive process improvement initiatives to reduce operational burden and improve report accuracy and templates.
• Collaborate with data analytics teams to align business metrics and generate insights from financial performance.
• Oversee data-related actuarial projects, such as Assumption Setting Exercises and IFRS database governance.
• Support strategic projects, including M&A activities.

Leadership & Team Development

• Manage, mentor, and evaluate team members, supporting their career development, engagement, and retention.
• Champion the Actuarial Development Program and actively support team members in earning actuarial credentials.
