Job purpose:

Ensure accurate financial records through general ledger bookings, account reconciliations, and managing tax processes. Oversee Accounts Payable, review T&E reports, and provide Group and external reporting in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with internal teams and external entities for accurate financial reporting and compliance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and perform general ledger bookings and account reconciliation (e.g. calculate provisions, pre-payments, preparing bank reconciliation)
  • Accountability for end-to-end processes for direct and indirect taxes, including current and deferred income tax calculations and VAT reporting
  • Accountability for end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including processing of invoices in the Coupa System and SAP, as well as review positions in payment run,
  • Review T&E reports according to Polish regulations,
  • Provide Group and external reporting (BS, P&L, supplementary information to financial statement – according to IFRS, SST, Polish Accounting Standards, Polish Tax regulations)
  • Prepare GUS/NBP reports,
  • Perform Intercompany process: postings, billing, reconciliation, support cash flow monitoring and reminders to internal customers,
  • Involvement in the annual statutory audit process
  • Perform various closing activities e.g. maintain interfaces to Sub ledger as an option: revaluation, regrouping and cost allocation cycles
  • Support/collaborate in various projects such as the analysis and implementation of Group Chart of Accounts changes
  • Cooperation with PPM Team, CFO, external companies like legal consultants, accounting office for statutory reporting and accounts payable department.
  • Execute controls within ICFR framework

 

Candidate’s profile:

  • University degree - finance and accounting, auditing, economy
  • Very good understanding and experience in Polish Gaap, IFRS, Polish Tax and regulatory requirements (CIT, VAT)
  • At last 2-3 years of practical accounting experience in GL, reporting, data analysis area
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Very good SAP and Excel knowledge, experience with the Optima system as an asset
  • Analytical skills, passion for detail, reliability, “can do” attitude, goals driven, flexibility  
  • Availability for 18 months contract with possibility of extension

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
