FAR Junior Accountant

Job purpose:

 

We are looking for a FAR Junior Accountant to work for one of our key stakeholders-based Switzerland. In this role, you will work closely with various leaders/process owners/suppliers across Finance to understand accounting and financial reporting challenges/requirements; while assisting in the delivery of general accounting daily processing and quarter end closing activities to ensure they are completed in line with business objectives. In this position you will promote team and cross-team collaboration, and you will assist in local, regional or global projects. The role gives opportunity to participate in local, regional and global projects and that is why we are looking for a proactive, flexible person with a “can do” approach. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Effectively manage month/quarter-end closing activities, including:
  • Booking to general ledger and to sub-ledgers based on rules/instruction
  • Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation
  • Data analysis and preparation of standard reports
  • Providing support to intercompany teams in posting and reconciliation processes.
  • Preparation of intercompany invoices.
  • Incoming payment allocation and execution of daily bank clearing activities.
  • Execute and document controls within the ICFR framework.
  • Cooperate with key stakeholders (Local Accountants, Group Consolidation, Tax, Treasury, Finance Business Partners).
  • Be involved in process improvements and standardization, keep documentation up to date, and support annual DTP reviews.
  • Support major projects and process re-organization in the Krakow GFF Team.

 

Responsibilities may evolve in accordance with changing team requirements.

 

 

Candidate’s profile:

 

  • Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree
  • Microsoft Office experience package including good Excel knowledge is a must
  • English language skills – spoken and written at fluent level 
  • Analytical skills with ability to summarize and present the results 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships across various stakeholders,
  • Previous working/internship experience is an asset
  • Desire to grow through development opportunities

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.

 

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
