About the role:

 

As a Machine Learning Engineer in our Intelligent Automation Team, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining intelligent automation solutions that power smarter business processes across Zurich globally. You will work with a mix of technologies—including Microsoft Power Platform, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Python, and generative AI tools such as Copilot—to deliver impactful projects for customers throughout Zurich’s worldwide organization. Your contributions will help us join multiple technologies into seamless automation solutions that drive efficiency, innovation, and better user experience.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and develop intelligent automation solutions that integrate machine learning into RPA and Power platforms.
  • Build and optimize backend systems for automation, natural language understanding, and AI-powered workflows.
  • Implement and deploy machine learning models within end-to-end automation projects, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Integrate conversational AI components, such as Copilot and other generative AI tools, to enhance user experience and business value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and business units globally to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and support ongoing automation initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of automation and AI systems, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in AI, RPA, Power Platform, and automation best practices, applying them to our projects.
  • Contribute to robust, high-quality code and participate in code reviews with a focus on maintainability and performance.

 

 

Candidate’s profile:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • 5–6 years of experience delivering production-ready solutions in machine learning, automation, or related fields.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., HuggingFace, LangChain).
  • Practical experience with transformer-based language models (e.g., GPT, BERT) and generative AI tool. ABle to build APIs (FastAPI).
  • Solid understanding of backend development, including APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse, international teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • A proactive, growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation in intelligent automation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automation workflows using RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Ble Prism and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) would be an asset.

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.

 

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
