Compliance Exec, Regulatory Compliance

Role Overview:

 

Supporting the Company’s efforts to maintain robust compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines by monitoring regulatory developments, evaluating their impact on business operations and providing timely, practical advice to internal stakeholders on compliance obligations and effective implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in aligning compliance activities with the company’s business strategy, regulatory requirements and industry developments.
  • Support the promotion of an ethics-based culture through training and awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess new laws, regulations and regulatory trends and assist in evaluating their applicability to the company’s operations in collaboration with Legal.
  • Provide compliance advisory support during product development, business initiatives and operational reviews in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

 

  • Participate in compliance risk assessments and gap analyses, and assist stakeholders with effective implementation of controls and remedial actions. 
  • Liaise with business and operational teams to help embed Group and local regulatory requirements into procedures, and support the implementation of compliance policies through operational controls.
  • Assist in preparing management information and monthly reports for Group Compliance and relevant governance committees.
  • Support communication with regulatory authorities, including coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries and assisting with submissions or inspections.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to compliance advisory activities and regulatory correspondence.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the line manager to support departmental objectives and regulatory compliance.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • A basic understanding of insurance and takaful laws, regulatory frameworks and compliance principles.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in legal, risk management or regulatory advisory (internship or entry-level exposure is acceptable)
  • Interest in regulatory compliance and willingness to develop expertise in insurance and takaful regulations and governance practices.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a self-motivated attitude.
  • Proactive, demonstrating initiative and continuously seeking areas for improvement.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and the local language.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with ability to prepare reports, presentation and documentation efficiently.
