Country Head of Broker Mgt & Commercial Insurance (CI)
Overview:
The Country Head of Broker Management and Commercial Insurance is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the implementation of the commercial lines strategy by managing relationships with brokers and agents, monitoring performance, offering recommendations and actively promoting products and services in order to deliver the strategy outcomes. This individual acts as the primary interface between the company and its network of insurance brokers, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships and the achievement of business objectives across all commercial insurance lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the country-wide strategy for broker management and commercial insurance, aligning with the organization’s overall vision and growth objectives.
- Broker Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and enhance strong relationships with key brokers and intermediary partners. Negotiate terms, resolve conflicts, and ensure high levels of broker satisfaction. Provide advice on cover versions, as well as technical support to insurance questions to brokers and customers through different channels.
- Business Development: Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the commercial insurance market. Drive new business acquisition, cross-selling, and retention initiatives through broker channels. Develop effective annual plans to grow the business and maintain a Group-wide relationship map with each key contact within the Broker. Actively promote our products services to key Assigned Brokers' management, and represent the Assigned Broker internally within the organization.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance, profitability, and risk profile of the commercial insurance portfolio. Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly. Actively promote our products services to key Assigned Brokers' management, and represent the Assigned Broker internally within the organization.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of broker managers and commercial insurance professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all broker management and commercial insurance activities comply with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market developments, competitor activities, and emerging risks to inform strategic decision-making.
- Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reports to regional and global leadership on broker channel performance, portfolio metrics, and market insights. Channel all ideas, opportunities, and complaints to appropriate Business Division- Country- Business Unit- Distribution Management group within the organization and follow-up any resulting actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Understand and communicate to all relevant staff within the organization how each assigned Broker evaluates insurers against the demands and needs of customers, and-or the attractiveness of insurers generally. Offer professional and collaborative relationship management to the brokers, including also the active relations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the general insurance industry, with a significant focus on broker management and commercial insurance.
- Proven track record in developing and executing business strategies, managing large portfolios, and leading teams.
- Strong understanding of local and international insurance regulations and market dynamics.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
