Job Title: Credit Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing the credit issuers of our insurance company, ensuring that all credit risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of credit analysis, and the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough credit analysis of potential and existing investments, including assessing the creditworthiness of issuers, analyzing financial statements, and evaluating economic and market conditions.
- Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and monitor credit risks of the portfolio, propose strategies portfolio managers to mitigate these risks.
- Investment Proposal/Selection: Prepare credit investments recommendation and proposal that align with the company's investment strategy and risk tolerance.
- Performance/Credit Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of the credit issuers in the portfolio. Engage with external stakeholders, including rating agencies, investment banks, trustees, etc in credit assessment and/or monitoring processes.
- Manage Problem Credits: Assist and manage problem credits, participate in restructuring/recoveries exercises, vetting of relevant legal documents where applicable.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports credit risk exposure and market conditions to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including risk management, compliance, and finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to credit exposures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in credit analysis, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent understanding of credit markets, investment strategies, and risk management principles.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
