Data Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Analyst (support) to support day-to-day data operation processes, troubleshoot issues, maintain data quality, and assist stakeholders with reporting and operational data needs. This role sits between data engineering, business analyst and business teams, ensuring smooth data flow and timely delivery of insights.



Key Responsibilities


1. Data Operations & Monitoring
•    Monitor daily data pipelines, scheduled ETL/ELT jobs, and automated reports.
•    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data failures, delays, and anomalies.
•    Escalate critical issues to data engineering teams when needed and follow through to closure.
•    Identify recurring issues and propose process or system improvements.


2. Ad-hoc Data Support
•    Handle ad-hoc data requests from business users, and tech teams.
•    Write SQL queries to extract, validate, and reconcile datasets.
•    Provide quick turnaround insights and ensure accuracy of delivered data.


3. Data Quality & Governance
•    Facilitate Zurich Edge Platform data governance processes.
•    Perform routine data quality checks and maintain data validation rules.
•    Investigate data discrepancies and coordinate fixes across upstream/downstream systems.
•    Document data definitions, logic, and quality standards.


4. Reporting & Analysis
•    Support and develop operational dashboards, recurring reports, and KPI metrics.
•    Collaborate with analysts to refine reporting logic and ensure consistency.
•    Maintain documentation for dashboards, data/information model, data lineage, and support procedures.


5. Stakeholder Communication
•    Liaise with internal teams (Tech Management, Tech Development, Data Engineering, Regional & local business).
•    Communicate issue status, risks, and remediation steps clearly.
•    Provide training or guidance to users on data tools or processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
•    Experience in data operations, data support, or similar role.
•    Strong SQL skills.
•    Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
•    Familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows, pipeline monitoring, and job schedulers (e.g., AWS stack for ETL, Databricks, Airflow, Cron).
•    Ability to analyse and troubleshoot data issues across multiple data sources.
•    Good understanding of data models, data warehousing concepts, and reporting structures.
•    Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•    Good communication skills and ability to work with non-technical users.

Good to Have
•    Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks).
•    Knowledge of Python or shell scripting for automation.
•    Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and integration flows.
