Data Engineer, APAC

The opportunity: 

Zurich Edge are looking for a motivated and hands-on Data Engineer to join our team in supporting Asia Pacific projects. Your main duty is developing data solutions to meet business requirements. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing data architectures, pipelines, and ETL processes. You need to be self-directed and be able to work independently supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Define the data architecture based on business requirements.
• Develop and maintain the data pipeline, including data sourcing, extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation.
• Design, implement, and optimize ETL data pipelines and automation.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions to support their work.

Your skills and experience:

• Technical proficiency, including professional experience in data modeling, database design, and data integration.
• Knowledge of database and programming languages such as SQL, NoSQL, Python or Java
• Experience on lake house architecture using Databricks.
• Experience working in an Agile environment; and possessing the knowledge of CI/CD or DevOps practices.
• A can-do attitude and hands-on mentality with a focus on delivering end-products that meet user needs and specific business use cases.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
