Deputy Chief Investment Officer
Purpose
Contribute the implementation of the Group’s investment strategy in the business units to deliver sustainable risk-adjusted returns aligned with the business’s risk appetite and income targets.
Key Accountabilities
Essential Job Functions: Investment Technical Accountabilities
• Leads the implementation of the Group’s investment strategy in the business units including ALM, changes in the strategic and tactical asset allocation, in line with local regulatory, capital, liquidity and risk requirements.
• Develops and manages investment strategies of portfolios and delivers the expected economic & accounting investment performance, making use of Investment Management’s capabilities
• Responsible for the delivery of high quality services by the internal and external managers of the local investment portfolios and strategies to ensure superior investment performance within the constraints of strategic and tactical asset allocation, risk-taking capacity and local regulations.
• Monitors and delivers investment income & expense plan and forecast for invested assets of the local legal entities • Monitors and delivers the investment cash and liquidity planning for local entities to ensure adequate liquidity of local entities in close collaboration with stakeholders
• Explores systematically and leads the exploitation of risk-premia to increase returns in close collaboration with stakeholders
Operations & Governance
• Defines and oversees investment strategies and guidelines of portfolios and products ensuring compliance with applicable risk, regulatory & governance processes
• Contributes to the definition of risk (incl. operational risk) frameworks and processes applicable to the investment function in collaboration with the appropriate functions
• Pro-actively ensures up to date knowledge of local regulatory and assurance requirements in collaboration with the relevant functions
• Leads and manages the production of investment related reports for stakeholders
• Leads the implementation process for investment portfolios and strategies in collaboration with appropriate functions and stakeholders
• Develops, implements and manages investment business processes in order to achieve business objectives and continuously improve delivery of the team Stakeholder management & Leadership
• Represents the investment function at business committees and other governance bodies, including external stakeholders, to ensure understanding of investment strategies and enable business strategy & execution
• Enables flow of information across co-workers and functions. Facilitates collaboration and learning across teams
• Explains investment concepts to stakeholders
• Provides accurate and timely investment information and insights to stakeholders
• Develops and proposes, and, where appropriate, leads the implementation of initiatives related to the local implementation of the Group's investment strategy with a regional or local impact. Defines the methods and processes to support their implementation.
• Leads the implementation of change initiatives
