Investment Accounting & Reporting Executive

Our opportunity

 

As an Investment Operations & Accounting Associate, you will be instrumental in managing daily investment operations and supporting comprehensive investment accounting and reporting. This role ensures accurate transaction processing and recordkeeping and maintains compliance with regulatory and accounting standards. You will also support month and quarter-end closings, reconciliation tasks, and contribute to process improvement and strategic projects across global entities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Investment Operations

  • Oversee and execute daily processing, posting, and clearing of securities transactions, income payments, and corporate actions.
  • Perform periodic reconciliations of securities holdings and cash account balances between internal systems and custodian banks; promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Complete timely month-end closing activities and support monthly hard closing processes.
  • Ensure all operational tasks adhere to documented controls, internal frameworks, and SOX compliance standards.
  • Support local operations teams and investment accountants with operational matters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, maintaining high-quality service delivery.
  • Support projects and initiatives relating to investment operations and cash account management.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, asset managers, custodians, auditors, and business partners.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on daily operations and internal control requirements.

 

Investment Accounting & Reporting

  • Perform monthly and quarterly closing activities for European and Middle East & Africa (MEA) entities under Local and IFRS rules.
  • Deliver accurate investment data and reporting for internal clients, including CIOs and CFOs.
  • Implement changes to the chart of accounts, valuation principles, and reporting requirements as mandated by local or Group regulations.
  • Ensure compliance of investment sub-ledger with GAAP, IFRS, local statutory, regulatory, and tax accounting standards.
  • Deliver insightful reports and explain key drivers, lifecycle, and trends for investment results across asset classes.
  • Contribute to new reporting requirements and ensure accurate, high-quality financial figures.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for team initiatives, internal projects, and country-specific requirements.
  • Contribute to validation and continuous improvement of accounting controls and quality checks.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • 4–5 years of experience in investment operations and/or investment accounting.
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACA) preferred.

 

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of investment operations, financial instruments, and capital markets.
  • Advanced knowledge of investment accounting principles, IFRS, GAAP, local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAP FAM/SAP Investments, Bloomberg, custodian platforms, and MS Office tools (especially Excel and Power Query).
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as SAP BI, BW.
  • Basic proficiency in financial mathematics and investment accounting processes.

  • Effective communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
