Job Summary

Supports the development and implementation of successful strategies (advancing / reviewing / documenting and challenging business and corporate strategies) at the Group, Segment and functional levels to ensure consistency of strategic work developed with Group- respectively Segment-specific strategic aspirations, objectives and frameworks.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities


• Evolving our strategy.
• Identifies emerging strategic issues and reviews them as agreed with executive management.
• Ensures functional strategies optimally support segmental strategies and identifies areas for potential synergies.
• Supports major work streams alongside the Zurich strategy process.
• Leads and organizes assigned sub- work streams encompassing up to 20+ people temporary organizations independently.
• Ensures key stakeholders receive appropriate guidance and supports in managing their deliverables.
• Systematically tracks achievement of milestones.
• Builds strong relationships with key executives and strategy development staff.
• Assist the communication of strategic contents to internal and external stakeholders.

Job Functions


• Have the ability to provide insights around key developments within Zurich and in the industry.
• Enjoy acceptance and respect of Senior Executives and selected Group Executive Committee members.
• Show results orientation and personal initiative.
• Helps execute the annual strategy cycle, prepare materials for approval by the Board of Directors.
• Supports projects by leading sub- work streams with high strategic importance.
• Promotes knowledge sharing throughout the strategists’ network and the broader organization.
• Gathers market information and disseminates the information to internal audiences.
• Coaches others with regard to strategic matters and projects.

Business Accountabilities


• Lead or manage relevant work streams or projects or programs which relate to their area of expertise to improve processes, develop policies and generate innovation to maintain regulatory compliance and/or deliver process or product enhancements.
• Conduct core analyses based on research and modeling to understand and quantify the risks associated with their area of expertise with proposed policies, regulatory change or other external factors (e.g. environmental, political, economic).
• Analyze and review complex data from multiple sources to make informed, authoritative technical/professional recommendations in their area of expertise to improve business performance in the medium and longer term.
• Advise and challenge business division/ business/ center of expertise in the development and execution of their area of expertise to enable the implementation of strategy, policy, projects and change initiatives.
• Develop and advise recommendations for new initiatives and areas of improvement within area of expertise to ensure the organization is cutting edge in this area.
